What T-Shirt Size?
Every camper gets a t-shirt on the last day of camp to wear at their showcase performance! Use this chart to select the correct size for your child.
Join RCM faculty musicians for hands-on instruction in an interactive and fun setting. New students may choose from band instruments including flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, French horn, trumpet, trombone, baritone, tuba, and percussion.
Students will register and be grouped by playing experience:
- Elementary Band - 0-1 year playing experience
- Intermediate Band - 1-3 years playing experience
This one-week camp wraps up with a final performance which will be open to the public.
Instrument assignment and fitting for students requesting a rental will take place at The Royal Conservatory (RCM) at 273 Bloor Street West the morning of the first day of camp. Further details will be provided closer to the start date.
This one-week camp wraps up with a presentation for family and friends on the final Friday afternoon of camp. Further details on this presentation will be provided in camp welcome emails.
Early Drop Off (8am) and Extended Care (4-6pm) available for an additional fee.

Do I need to know how to read music?
Being able to read music notation is recommended.
What if I haven’t played a band instrument and don’t know which one to choose?
Beginners are welcome to join Band Camp! Experience playing a band instrument is not required. When registering for Band Camp you will be asked to fill more details about your musical experience and knowledge, and you can list your preferred instrument. Are rental instruments provided for students?
A rental instrument will be provided as part of tuition for Elementary band students, and at an additional cost for Intermediate band students. Please indicate if you will require a rental instrument during registration. If you have your own instrument or have access to one from your school, you may bring that to camp.
Do you offer early care or after care?
Yes, we offer both Early Care (8:00 am) and Extended Care (4:00-6:00 pm) at an additional cost. You will be able to opt in when registering for camp.
What is the camp schedule?
A typical day in Band Camp is as follows:
8:45-9:00 am – Sign-In
9:00-10:00 am – Musicianship class
10:00-11:00 am – Elementary Band Classes & Intermediate Band Rehearsal
11:00 am-12:00 pm – Intermediate Band Classes & Elementary Band Rehearsal
12:00-1:00 pm – Lunch and Free Time
1:00-2:00 pm – Elementary and Intermediate Band Rehearsal
2:00-3:00 pm – Live Performance by Oscar Peterson School of Music Faculty
3:00-4:00 pm – Camp Fun Activities
4:00-4:15 pm – Sign-out
