Wendy Hannam was an Executive Vice President at Scotiabank from 2004 – 2014. Most recently, she was Executive Vice President, Latin America, where she was responsible for maximizing growth opportunities in the Bank’s Latin American operations. She currently serves as a Director of Encore Capital Group, a U.S. public financial services company.
Wendy joined Scotiabank in 1983, after graduating from Rotman’s MBA program. She also holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Memorial University, and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Programme at INSEAD, and the ICD-Rotman Directors Education Program.
Wendy has served on the boards of several business, arts and community organizations, including the Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments, the Canadian Club, and the Toronto Children’s Chorus, where she served as Chair from 2006-2009. She was recognized as a member of WXN “100 Most Powerful Women in Canada” Hall of Fame in 2010, and was named to the Latinvex “Top 100 Business Women in Latin America” in 2013. In 2015 she was named among Rotman School of Management’s inaugural Women in Management Top 10 Almuni.
