Arts Patron and Supporter, Michael Koerner draws on over 50 years of business experience. Mr. Koerner is the President of Canada Overseas Investments Limited. Mr. Koerner is also Director of Central Wire Industries Ltd., Helix Investments Limited and Strathbridge Asset Management.

Mr. Koerner’s past Directorships include: Co-Steel Inc., 1970; GerdauAmeristeel (previously known as Co-Steel); CAE Inc., 1982-1999; Finning International Inc., 1974-2000; and Chairman and Director, Suncor Energy Inc., 1977-94 / 1995-2001.

Other associations include: Trustee, Art Gallery of Ontario Past President (1982-1984); Life Member of the Corporation, Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Past Chairman of the Investment Committee, Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Past member of the Executive Committee, Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is also Treasurer, Ontario Arts Council Foundation; and Treasurer, Ontario Cultural Attractions Fund.

Mr. Koerner is a Member - Order of Canada, 1984 and the recipient of the Canadian Conference of the Arts Award, 1993 and the Edmund C. Bovey Award, 2006.

In 2015 Mr. Koerner was among seven prominent Canadians to be honoured with a Governor General's Performing Arts Award for their contributions to Canadian culture. Mr. Koerner received the Ramon John Hnatyshyn Award for Voluntarism in the Performing Arts, given to individuals or groups demonstrating an exceptional dedication to advancing the performing arts.

Mr. Koerner holds an M.B.A. from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration and a S.B.from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
