Ransom Wilson is a renowned flutist and conductor, currently holding the Camilla Huxford Chair of Orchestral Studies at the University of Alabama.
He is Artistic Director of LE TRAIN BLEU and Music Director of the Redlands Symphony, which has flourished under his leadership.
A former Metropolitan Opera conductor, he has led major orchestras worldwide, including the London Symphony and Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra. His acclaimed recordings span classical and contemporary music, earning three Grammy nominations.
A champion of new works, Wilson has commissioned many composers. He studied at Juilliard and in France with Jean-Pierre Rampal, receiving mentorship from Leonard Bernstein.
