Remote Practical Exams

Preparing for your practical exam

As social distancing is still the recommended practice by Government and Health Officials, there are limitations on the way certain disciplines can participate in Remote Exams this August. Please review the overview sections below to see whether your exam will be impacted. On July 22, US Students have been emailed with information and details regarding their Remote Practical Exam. Canadian Students will receive further communication on July 31, 2020.

In preparation for your Practical Exam, and for further information on what to expect with a remote exam, please review this page:

Before Your Practical Exam

Our goal for the August Exam Session is to schedule your Remote Practical Exam to a time that is as close as possible to your original choice. In-person practical exam times are being used to schedule online (remote) practical exams. This means that remote practical exam dates will be scheduled to reflect the original August in-person practical session dates:

  • US: July 31 to August 6, 2020
  • Canada: August 10 to 22, 2020

Every effort is being made to have your online exam scheduled in the same 90 minute time block on the same day that you originally requested. It is our desire to minimize any disruptions to your existing plans and schedules.

Exam dates will be confirmed in your MyRCM account and by email. To ensure receipt of emails related to your exam, please check that the email address associated with your account is correct and add [email protected] to your safe sender list.  If you notice a discrepancy in the time of your exam between your confirmation email and your account - the time in your account is correct.

If you believe you need to postpone your examination or if the General and/or Specific conditions for your Discipline and Level cannot be met, please submit this form.  Please give us time to process your request. We are working hard to ensure the continuation of your music study.
